Mr Jeremy Crew has a busy medico-legal practice specialising in all aspects of urology, including the urological consequences of trauma and personal injury and complications of medical management of urological conditions where breach of duty is considered.

He has a subspecialist interest in the management of urological cancers and lower urinary tract symptoms.

Medico-legal experience

Mr Crew has been undertaking medico-legal work since 2005. Over the past 2 years Mr. Crew has been involved in 200 medicolegal cases and reports. The breakdown of these reports is:

  • 85 cases of clinical negligence
  • 40 cases of personal injury
  • 5 criminal cases
  • Claimant : Defendant ratio is 2:1

In addition, over this time Mr. Crew has been involved in a further 64 medicolegal events (eg joint reports, letters, meetings, etc.

Medico-legal practice

Mr Crew is available for medico-legal consultation at The Manor Hospital in Oxford. Other venues can be requested if required. He also undertakes home visits and prison visits. He undertakes criminal cases following discussion with the acting solicitor or barrister.  

Time frame for delivery of reports

  • The time from enquiry to outpatient appointment (if required) is 2 weeks.
  • The report takes a further 2-4 weeks (faster turnaround may be possible on request).

Fees

  • Mr. Crew’s fees are based on an hourly rate of £250.
  • A full schedule of his ‘Terms & Conditions’ can be provided on request.

Research interests and publications

Mr Crew has written 75 publications and 3 book chapters to date. He has an ongoing research interest into:

  • The molecular biology of urological malignancy
  • Improving outcomes following radical cystectomy
  • Investigation of haematuria
  • Clinical trials into non-muscle invasive bladder cancer
  • The outcome of Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate for BPH
  • The use of immunotherapy in urological malignancy
