I had a Laparoscopic hernia operation recently performed at the Leicester Nuffield Hospital by Mr Robertson. He really impressed me from the initial consultation when all aspects of the procedure were carefully explained and I was able to have a full discussion of all the issues that concerned me such that I was most confident of the outcome. Post the operation he was at my bedside and has a most sincerere and caring manner that should be a model for all health professionals. I made a full and rapid recovery and would highly recommend his services.

Mr Robertson operated on me 6 years ago to remove my gall bladder. I was very happy with every contact I had with him and he was even there when I woke up to check I was OK and give me my gallstones! I was quite surprised, but very much appreciated it. Recently I had an incident that I was suspicious of and worried about, as I work in some challenging contexts where access to medical care is limited. So I contacted Mr Robertson to ask him for advice. He got back to me very quickly and following the consultation arranged an MRI scan. Now the situation is clear, I again feel able to continue my work and travel with confidence. Kind, compassionate, good listener, super-competent and an all-round superstar - can we clone him and distribute him throughout the medical profession?

From the initial consultation to aftercare the care and consideration that Mr Robertson showed towards my health was nothing short of fantastic. Mr Robertson took time to discuss all my concerns with me and alleviated any worries I had regarding the procedure. Gavin Robertson is a truly outstanding professional. I had been suffering with gallbladder pain & had a stone trapped in my bile duct. During the consultation, I felt that he listened to the problems I was experiencing & indeed brought forward my surgery as an urgent case to the following day, due to the pain & sickness I was experiencing. I cant thank him enough for this, as immediately after that operation I was so much better! Within one week of this( surgery to remove the trapped stone), I had the surgery to remove my gallbladder via keyhole surgery. Again I was given full details of the procedure, the risks & the outcomes, in a calm, caring & reassuring manner. The incisions are very small & neat & one month on are barely visible & Im told will fade over time. First class specialist.

Having had a partial nephrectomy some years ago I was left with a visible and growing hernia issue. My GP recommended a specialist in this field however this specialist following his investigation through scans decided that the complexity of the operation due to the positioning under the ribcage was beyond his capabilities and recommended I see another specialist Mr Gavin Robertson. I was treated by Gavin Robertson for an inguinal hernia repair through keyhole surgery. The whole process, from first consultation to post-operative review, was absolutely first class. He fully explained his diagnosis and then talked me through the remedial procedure he was proposing, including any potential risks and possible side effects (however remote). His calm, professional attitude put me completely at ease and at no time did I feel anything other than mild apprehension over the surgery that would be performed. The day care I received at Spire hospital was excellent, and by the following evening I was barely aware of any discomfort. Within days I felt perfectly well, apart from some occasional fatigue. In summary, I can only offer Mr Robertson my highest recommendation.

I found that Gavin Robertson is very professional and caring surgeon. He looks after your interests. My operation date was within a few days and his team at Nuffield Hospital was outstanding and caring. I was given the medication after the operation to control my pain. My recover time was very quick and I could get back to doing things within two weeks. I have very little visual scars. I would recommend Gavin for any operation in the future.

Just want to say from the moment I had my first appointment, I can not fault anything, Mr Robertson always seemed to care and took an interest, I had my Gallbladder removed, and not once did I feel nervous, just hope if I need anything doing in the future I can get refered to him. Been to have a check up today to be signed off and he even gave me his card and said any problems contact me. While working abroad I started to experience pain down my right hand side. I got treatment and was told I had kidney stones. I continued to experience pain and issues. When I returned to the UK i was advised to speak to a general surgeon and Gavin was recommended. It turned out the I had an appendicitis and had to have my appendix removed that Gavin did. I am very thankful that I was recommended to Gavin he found what the real issue was coursing my pain, his confidence and knowledge was very relaxing clearly gained from years of experience. The experience as you can imagine was not pleasant but the manner in which Gavin conducted himself made me feel I was in safe hands and removed most of my concerns and worry. I would strongly recommend using him if you have general surgery issues.

Dr Robertson, a most charming man with a great "bedside manner". I saw Dr Robertson one Wednesday and ten days later I was in hospital to have my Gall Bladder removed. The whole experience was worry and problem free due to Mr Robertson and his team. Should I need surgery again, then I will speak to Mr Robertson first, I have great confidence in him.
