Leading independent healthcare provider, Ramsay Health Care UK has launched a new mobile site and myspecialist app.
The mySpecialist app enables users to search quickly and easily through a database of over 3,000 consultants who operate at Ramsay’s hospitals located throughout England. Users can search for specialists across a wide range of specialties including orthopaedics, cardiology, oncology and bariatric surgery or pinpoint the exact type of specialist (for example a subspecialist in knee surgery or children’s ophthalmology).
The mySpecialist app uses location-based technology which allows users to find the specialist closest to them or to the location of their choice. The app also assists to locate Ramsay Health Care UK hospitals, view treatment information or view and register for events at Ramsay hospitals.
For general practitioners (GPs), in addition to the mySpecialist search facility, the app has a special feature which enables a GP to search for upcoming GP education activities in nearby locations. GPs using the app can read about the event and register their interest in attending all within a matter of seconds.
Jill Watts, CEO at Ramsay Health Care UK said: “At Ramsay we know how important it is to our patients and GPs to have access to reliable and up to date information about our consultants, hospitals and specialities. This app makes it easier for people to find and access that information, especially as we have made it freely available.”
Ross Finch, Marketing Manager added: “With ever increasing numbers of visitors accessing the Ramsay website via mobile devices, we needed to provide new formats that would appeal and provide a rewarding experience to those not accessing the site via the traditional desktop or laptop”.
At this stage, the myspecialist app is only available to iphone and ipad. A version suitable for android phones is currently under development.
For people that do not have an iPhone, Ramsay has also launched a mobile website too, visit www.ramsayhealth.co.uk on your smart phone to see the new mobile version.
