Dermatitis (Contact)

Dermatitis (Contact)

In contact dermatitis, there is inflammation of the outer layer of the skin when the person comes in contact with an irritating substance. There is redness, severe itching, presence of scales and even burning on the area of the skin affected. Removal of the irritating substance or chemical from the skin is the first line of treatment for contact dermatitis. Applying emollients could help soothe itching, pain and redness on the skin.
