Blepharitis means inflammation of the margin of the eyelid (‘blepharon’). It can occur due to viral or bacterial infection of the eyelid and sometimes no cause can be found. Diagnosis is made by clinical examination. Lid hygiene and antibiotics help in alleviating the illness.
