I had no problems with the procedure but the admin of this hospital is hopeless!



When you ring all number options take you round in a circle. Even using a direct number the staff rarely answer the phone and it goes to voicemail. If you ask for a call back - Don't hold your breath - It doesn't happen.



Prior to the procedure I was asked to complete a form. Although the form was with them over a week before the procedure they didn't review it until the day before - This resulted in a phone call telling me I had to get to the hospital within 2 hours for an MRSA test or the procedure would be cancelled - I had to make a 140 mile round trip dash because of their incompetence.



These people want you to pay for their total lack of consideration for their patients.



Park Hill - You need more admin staff and you need to answer the phone!

It is 1 year since I had my operation for the gastric band. I have lost 5 stone in 1 year, and I am the happiest I have been in years. My operation was carried out by Mr Ballachandra, from the moment I met him, he put me at ease, listened to what I had to say, and within speaking to him for 20 minutes, my decision was made, to go ahead with my operation. My op went well, the after care, and the actual hospital surroundings, were of a very high standard. I had no complications, but I must admit, for the first two weeks, I did nothing but cry, and question, what had I done, but that was the only negativity, my weight started dropping off, and I started seeing my dietician John Finney, John supported me, on making good decisions, and together, we made decisions on whether my band needed tightening or not, his support, was so crucial to me, and he kept me on the right track. I don’t want people to be under the illusion that the operation magically gets rid of all the fat, it’s not like that, it’s a great tool, but you can’t abuse that tool, you have rules to follow, but believe me, follow the rules, and you will get the outcome you desire. I have gone from a size 20 to a 10/12 in a year, because I stuck to the rules, and I can honestly say it’s been easy for me. Not only has the operation changed me on the way I look, due to the weight loss, it has also made massive changes to my health, I am no longer borderline diabetic, I can walk further, my breathing has improved, my pain in my knees has improved, and it has had a positive effect on my mental health. This operation, has changed my life, for the better.

Advised the cost and agreed additional fee for a hearing test. test completed but no removal attempted as equipment was not functional. Advised that another appointment would incur an additional fee. No new date offered. No apology and no refund. Weeks after complaining, still waiting for response.
