An obstetrician is a medical professional that assists women during their pregnancy and labour. She is a specialist that monitors pregnant women from the first trimester until they are able to deliver their baby; they may also follow up the patient after the delivery is over to ensure full recovery. She works together with a paediatrician to ensure the health of the mother and child during delivery.
