A and E consultants are accident and emergency consultants. They are medical specialists who deal with accident and emergency situations. Consultants in accident and emergency are drawn from a variety of medical backgrounds e.g. medicine, surgery and anaesthetic. Main role of accident and emergency consultants is to provide immediate resuscitation and pain relief to the patients presenting in emergency.
