Oliver Blocker: Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Birmingham

Mr Oliver Blocker FRCS (Tr&Orth) is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Birmingham.  He was the first consultant appointed to the new hospital in August 2024.

 

Mr Blocker specialises in primary and revision knee and hip replacements. Alongside his work at Practice Plus Group, he also serves as an NHS consultant in North Wales, a role he has held since 2020. His specialist training took place in Wales and at the renowned Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry. He further enhanced his expertise through fellowship training at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham.  

 

Mr Blocker is passionate about NHS research and education in Trauma and Orthopaedics. He is an honorary clinical senior lecturer at Bangor University.
