Matthew Bowles: Consultant General Surgeon in Plymouth
Mr Matthew Bowles graduated from St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London in 1986 and completed his surgical training in London and South East England. In 1999 he was awarded a Master of Surgery degree for research into small bowel transplantation. In 2001 Mr Bowles was appointed consultant liver transplant surgeon at King’s College Hospital, London, where he served at various times as clinical director for surgery, surgical tutor and foundation training programme director. He relocated to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth in 2009, moving his focus from transplantation to cancer surgery and increasing his workload of gallstone and hernia surgeries.
