Mr Charles Ranaboldo is a distinguished consultant general and vascular surgeon with over 40 years of experience in his field. He graduated from Southampton University in 1984 and went on to complete specialist surgical training across the South of England, as well as internationally in Europe, the USA, and South Africa.
In 1996, Mr Ranaboldo was appointed to a substantive NHS consultant position, where he developed and lead a successful vascular surgical service. His clinical expertise includes venous surgery, with a particular focus on minimal access, catheter-based treatments under local anaesthetic, laparoscopic (keyhole) abdominal surgery and all forms of abdominal hernia repair using both endoscopic and open surgical techniques. He also routinely performs gall bladder surgery and benign biliary procedures including laparoscopic bile duct exploration, as well as hiatal hernia repair, anti-reflux surgery for oesophageal reflux and splenectomy.
Beyond his surgical practice, Mr Ranaboldo has held significant roles in clinical governance and healthcare management, contributing extensively to the advancement of quality and safety standards across British healthcare systems.
