Dr Waqar Ahmed is a highly experienced Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist with extensive expertise in both diagnostic and interventional endoscopy. He also has a special clinical interest in disorders of the pancreas, bile ducts and liver. Dr Ahmed graduated from Khyber Medical College in 1981, going on to undertake further specialist training. On moving to the UK, he gained his MRCP and FRCP from the Royal College of Physicians of London and an MD from the University of Liverpool. He has practised as an NHS consultant since 1996 and is a member of the British Medical Association, the British Society of Gastroenterology and the British Association for the Study of the Liver.
