Walter Cazzaniga: Consultant Urological Surgeon in London
Mr Walter Cazzaniga is a Consultant Urological Surgeon specialising in Urologic Oncology, with an emphasis on the management of kidney and testicular cancer, as well as surgery for adrenal and retroperitoneal tumours. He is based at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in London, where he holds both NHS and Private Care practice.
Mr Cazzaniga completed his Urology training at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, Italy, which enjoys an international reputation for excellence in this field. He then undertook a Clinical Fellowship in the Urology Department of The Royal Marsden Hospital.
In 2018, Mr Cazzaniga's research fellowship at the Department of Surgical Sciences at Uppsala University in Sweden resulted in the publication of a number of original articles focussing on epidemiological and surgical outcomes. In 2021, he was awarded a research grant by the European Association of Urology (EAU) to study the metastatic potential of a subtype of testicular cancers. Currently, his research work is centred on the analysis of the quality of life for cancer survivors and minimally invasive surgical approaches aimed at mitigating side effects and optimising surgical recovery.
Mr Cazzaniga is a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS). He serves as an Associate Member of the EAU Testicular Cancer Guidelines and is the Chair of the EAU Young Academic Urologist Group for Testicular Cancer.
Mr Cazzaniga's surgical practice extends across both traditional open surgery techniques and minimally invasive robotic-assisted procedures. He is available for private consultation at The Royal Marsden Private Care at Cavendish Square, Chelsea and Sutton.
