Victor Baptista: Consultant General Surgeon in Birmingham
Dr Victor Hugo Baptista is a highly experienced Consultant General Surgeon with extensive expertise in managing a broad spectrum of surgical conditions. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Coimbra, Medical School, before specialising in general surgery in Portugal, focusing on colorectal cancer, hernia repair and benign gastric conditions. His dedication to mastering advanced surgical techniques led him to the UK, where he completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery at the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. During this time, he gained specialist knowledge in oncological colorectal surgery, advanced rectal cancers and intricate abdominal wall procedures.
Before joining Practice Plus Group Hospital Birmingham, Dr Baptista worked at St James’s University Hospital under the guidance of Professor Giles Toogood and worked as a Consultant Emergency General Surgeon at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. His surgical expertise covers hernia repair, coloproctology, gallbladder diseases, skin surgery and the management of pilonidal disease.
Dr Baptista is dedicated to clinical excellence, patient safety and mentoring the next generation of surgeons, making him a highly regarded member of the Practice Plus Group team.
