The London Breast Care Centre provides innovative, integrated, high quality and cost-effective breast services to women in a caring and compassionate manner. This involves demonstrable and audited excellence of the three essential components required - medical staffing, diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, and research activity.
The centre has been founded by Professor Kefah Mokbel, an esteemed specialist in the field of breast cancer, and is located in a suite of offices in the Princess Grace Hospital Outpatient Department. Patients who visit the breast centre have access to the most advanced tests and therapies available anywhere.
Since being the first breast unit in the UK to install and use full digital mammography, the Princess Grace Hospital has maintained its leading position in the equipment field and is regularly visited by other UK centres. Platinum levels of required standards have been set for eligibility of staff to work in the unit as well as volume levels of unit throughput to maintain skill and expertise.
With such unparalleled levels of dedicated staff and superior technology, The London Breast Care Centre strives to contribute to the future of breast care by carrying out properly conducted and meaningful research.
The centre provides access to comprehensive care that extends from screening to reconstructive surgery:
The oncoplastic breast surgeons and interventional breast radiologists offer cutting edge treatments including minimally invasive removal of benign lesions, sentinel node biopsy using the dual localization technique, skin-sparing mastectomy and immediate reconstruction and breast ductoscopy.
Patients requiring chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy will be treated by internationally renowned breast oncologists in an innovative and patient-orientated environment at The London Oncology Clinic or The Harley Street Clinic.
