Acute limb ischemia is a condition that is brought about by an embolism or deep vein thrombosis. Other causes could be arterial thrombosis, embolic occlusion and arterial aneurysm. Surgical care is needed to reduce the effects of acute limb ischemia however if this condition is left untreated, this could lead to amputation and even death.
