Gouty nephropathy is a condition where there are high levels of uric acid in the urine leading to poor kidney function. There is decreased production of urine, a rise of creatinine levels and pain along the lower back. Treatment for gouty neuropathy includes the use of diuretics which will reduce the deposit of uric acid in the kidneys and bladder. Dialysis is recommended for kidney failure.
