Endoscopic retrograde cholangio panceratography or ERCP is an procedure that employs an endoscope, which is passed through the mouth and on into the stomach and gut. The fibre optic strands make it possible too visualise the bile duct and the pancreatic duct. This procedure is also used to remove gallstones or to remove small samples of tissue for a biopsy.
