In an ectopic pregnancy the fertilized egg implants outside of the uterus, such as the fallopian tube. Symptoms of ectopic pregnancy are noticeable between week 5 and 14 of the pregnancy. These this includes bleeding, mild to severe abdominal pain (usually one side of the abdomen) and other symptoms of pregnancy. The fetus does not develop and should be surgically removed to reduce complications such as internal bleeding and splitting of the fallopian tubes.
