NHS dental treatment is free if you are pregnant or on income support, income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Income-related Support and employment Allowance, pension credit guarantee credit, or universal credit. It is also free for children.

Those who are on a low income can have access to financial help through the NHS Low-Income Scheme.

In Wales, all check-ups are free, and treatment for over 65s is free too.

Different rules and charges apply in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
