Microsclerotherapy – thread / spider veins only

Microsclerotherapy is the most effective treatment for thread veins (spider veins) on legs and feet. It is performed without anaesthetic in an outpatient setting, meaning you will return home that same day.

Microsclerotherapy uses a light and a very fine needle to inject the veins with a foam mixture that helps the body to absorb them naturally. The procedure usually takes only one-hour per leg, and a bandage and compression stocking is then applied.

Compression Bandaging – leg ulcers only

Compression bandaging is recommended as the first line of treatment for leg ulcers by the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence. RFA, UGFS and other procedures may be considered later down the line if the ulcer is associated with another underlying vein condition (as determined from your initial consultation).
