Ian Sabin: Consultant Neurosurgeon in London
Mr Sabin is a highly experienced Consultant Neurosurgeon at St Bartholomew's Hospital and The Wellington Hospital. He is also the Director of London Gamma Knife Centre at Wellington Platinum Medical Centre. Mr Sabin specialises in neuro-oncology, skull base surgery, cervical spine surgery and gamma knife radiosurgery and is committed to research and development in the field of neurosurgery.
Training and experience
Mr Sabin has been the Neurosurgical Tutor to the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and has also served on the national Specialist Advisory Committee for Neurosurgery.
Previously a member of the Court of Examiners of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the highly skilled Neurosurgeon is currently a member of the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society and has run courses in London on their behalf.
Ian Sabin is an International Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and has International Membership of the Congress of Neurological Surgery and the North American Skull Base Society.
With over 30 years of experience in neurosurgery, Mr Sabin also also presented at international conferences.
In 2018, he planned and commissioned the first Icon Gamma Knife in London.

Research interests
His research in the field of neurosurgery led to the development of endoscopic minimally invasive pituitary surgery in the UK which has now been adopted by many neurosurgical units. He has also been involved in research for stereotactic intacranial surgery, cervical spine surgery and skull base surgery.
He has featured in multiple peer-reviewed journals such as the Lancest, Neurosurgery and the Journal of Neurosurgery, has written many research papers since 1983 and is also an author and editor-in-chief.
Charity work
Mr Sabin has been a Trustee for a charity for the last five years which has donated more than £30 million. He has also donated over £1 million with the Medical Research Committee, of which he is Chair, to medical charities supporting PhD students.
