Training and experience

Dr Rahman undertook his basic medical training at The Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in London. He then completed his gastroenterology specialist training on the prestigious North East London rotation. He was awarded his PhD by University College London (UCL) for his research into the immunopathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr Rahman is a luminal gastroenterologist specialising in conditions that affect the lining of the gastrointestinal tract such as inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), peptic ulcers and coeliac disease. His subspecialty interests include clinical nutrition and intestinal failure, and endoscopy (gastroscopy, colonoscopy and polypectomy).
