myTribe and Practice Plus Group hospitals announce partnership

Consumer information website myTribe and affordable private hospital chain Practice Plus Group join forces in a new partnership aimed at helping people navigate the complicated world of private healthcare.

myTribe, a consumer information website dedicated to private healthcare and insurance in the UK, exists to answer the public's many questions about private medical services. Frequently cited in the national press, myTribe is fast becoming the go-to destination for independent research, guides, and service reviews.

Meanwhile Practice Plus Group, named ‘Hospital Group of the Year’ by industry experts Laing Buisson, launched its Wellsoon brand last year aimed at offering fixed, transparent prices for surgery with no hidden extras.

The partnership means myTribe visitors who can’t or don’t want to use private medical insurance, for example because they need treatment for a pre-existing condition or their premiums have become too expensive, will be recommended to Practice Plus Group for operations such as hip and knee replacements, hernia repair and cataract surgery.

Chris Steele, Founder and Editor of myTribe, said: “We've been actively looking for a partnership with a hospital group to provide our visitors with a pathway if insurance isn't viable. Millions of people are awaiting NHS treatment but, without insurance, need to know their options. We're delighted to have formed this partnership with a hospital group that offers speedy, high-quality surgery at reasonable prices.

“It's clear from Practice Plus Group’s extensive work for the NHS, CQC ratings, and patient testimonials that they are an outstanding group of independent hospitals that puts patients first, and we're pleased that we can signpost our visitors to them.”

Jim Easton, Chief Executive of Practice Plus Group, said: “We share a common goal with myTribe which is to help people understand their healthcare options and make an informed decision. Around half of our private patients have never used private healthcare before and soon find that trying to compare options is overly complicated. MyTribe helps simplify the process as do we. Our affordable pricing doesn’t change depending on which surgeon you choose, where in the country you live, how many nights you stay in hospital or what follow-up care you need. The price we quote is the price you pay and you can’t get much simpler and easier than that.”
