Dr Sarah Clarke appointed clinical lead

Dr Clarke is an Interventional Cardiologist in Cambridge. She has a track record of leading internal and external service reviews and developing and delivering clinical pathways through her Clinical Director roles and has now been appointed joint clinical lead at GIRFT.

She led the introduction of PPCI in the East of England and is the Chair of the Elective Care Work stream for the Cambridge and Peterborough STP and now chairs the Cardiology Steering Group and Work stream of the STP, transforming cardiology pathways system-wide.

Dr Clarke said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to lead this important work with Professor Ray, who will also succeed me as President at the BCS. We are committed to working with the Professional Societies, trusts and with colleagues to reduce unwarranted variation across pathways, ensuring highest quality and best outcomes for our patients.
