Vocal fold bowing is the dysfunction of the vocal folds. It occurs because of atrophy of the vocal folds. Weak vocal folds leave a gap between them and do not close completely. It is caused by overuse or aging of vocal folds. Symptoms are weakness and hoarseness. First line treatment is voice therapy which is a non-invasive procedure.
