A varicocele is the enlargement of veins in the scrotum. It's two main types are idiopathic and secondary varicoceles. Symptoms are a palpable enlarged vein, pain within the scrotum, decreased size of the testicles and higher levels of testosterone. It is usually treated with non-invasive treatment options. Surgery is performed for symptomatic varicoceles. It is usually not fatal but it can cause infertility.
