Rectum examination by camera
A rectal examination using a tube with a light and microcamera attached at the end is as a sigmoidoscopy. A sigmoidoscope is used in this procedure. The sigmoidoscope is inserted into the rectum and the images obtained by the camera are displayed on the monitor screen. A sigmoidoscopy is usually performed to diagnose warts, internal hemorrhoids, anal fissures or other abnormal symptoms.
