Pityriasis rosea is a skin condition which is common in adults. There is a skin rash which is red in colour, scaly in appearance and could be located in different areas of the body. The rash may also be very itchy. This skin condition usually resolves on its own. It is unknown how people contract pityriasis rosea but it may be due to a viral infection.
