Neuro rehabilitation
Neuro rehabilitation is a complex process which aims to aid recovery from a nervous system injury, and to minimize and/or compensate for any functional alterations resulting from it. Rehabilitation usually involved a team of multi-disciplinary experts, which may include a Neurologist, Specialist Physiotherapist, Occupational therapist, Speech therapist and psychologist. Neuro rehabilititation therapies have advanced enormously in recent years and some specialist treatment centres offer therapies such as CI Therapy (Constraint–Induced Movement Therapy), Specialist physiotherapy using a therapeutic suit, URIAS inflatable air splints, Redcord suspension exercises as well as Synergetic reflexology therapy (SRT) in combination with stimulation of sensory functions in the Snoezelen. (Snoezelen is a controlled multisensory environment).
