Meningitis is an infection of the meninges of the brain and the membranes of the spinal cord. Anyone could suffer from meningitis but young children and babies are the most susceptible. Symptoms are high fever, vomiting, drowsiness, rapid breathing, unusual high-pitched moaning, stiff neck, light sensitivity, seizures and convulsions. There is also the presence of severe headaches, muscle pains, vomiting and irritability.
