Gynecomastia
Gynecomastia, also known as 'man boobs', is a swelling of the breast tissue so that it becomes much larger than is normal. It can occur in young teenagers as well as older men. It is caused by an imbalance of hormones and may, on occasion, be painful. It may be possible to treat the condition with hormone treatment. However, if this is ineffective and the extra breast tissue becomes a troubling psychological condition, then surgery may be advised. The extent of surgery will depend on the amount of tissue to be removed.
