Frozen embryo transfer (FET)
Frozen embryo transfer or FET is the transfer of a previously frozen embryo to a recipient, which may be the donor herself. A frozen embryo will stay viable for up to 10 years, and once they are ready to be transplanted they are thawed and assessed thoroughly. The procedure is done via local anaesthesia; a small catheter is used to insert the embryo into the fallopian tube.
