Fanconi syndrome
Fanconi syndrome, or renal Fanconi syndrome, is a genetic or acquired condition of the renal tubules that lead to kidney damage. A person with this condition may suffer from the following disorders: aminoaciduria, glycosuria, phosphaturia, renal tubular acidosis, rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults. Treatment is according to the underlying illness and symptoms the patient is exhibiting. Correction of electrolyte imbalances by taking supplements is common.
