DNA testing is a test that can help prove paternity to solve any disagreement about parentage. This is called 'Paternity testing'. It can be used to prove that a person is not a child’s parent or it may also show that a person is a probable parent. There are certain rules in DNA testing where agreement from both parents must be obtained before a DNA test can be performed. A child that is over 16 years of age should give his/her permission to be tested. DNA testing is also performed in Immigration tests, as well as genetic screening prior to implantation of eggs during infertility treatment.
