Just above the kidney sits the adrenal gland which produces the hormone aldosterone. In Conn’s syndrome there is an excess production of aldosterone. Sufferers develop high blood pressure, muscle cramps, weakness, headache, kidney disease and heart disease. Medication to control blood pressure is prescribed.
