Breast lump removal
A breast lump removal, or lumpectomy, is the surgical removal of a lump or growth in the breast tissue. Having discovered a lump it is important that it is checked out by a specialist. If it the consistency of the lump is of concern to the specialist, a biopsy may be taken. If the concern proves justified, the lump is then surgically removed. An incision is made in the breast directly over the growth and the lump is excised from the breast tissue by cautery, laser or by other surgical methods.
