Mr Shah is an orthopaedic and trauma consultant in Manchester specialising in lower limb problems, particularly hip and knee replacements, and knee arthroscopy.
Mr Shah completed his orthopaedic higher specialist training in the North West. He then went on to do advanced training fellowships in hip and knee replacements and revision surgery at
Wrightington Hospital, and another fellowship at the
Orthopaedic and Arthritic Institute in Toronto, Canada. He practices in Manchester with a special interest in lower limb surgery, particularly patients with hip and knee arthritis.
Mr Shah's elective practice consists mainly of hip and knee replacement surgery. He also provides the regional service for pelvic and acetabular fractures in the NHS for the north West. He teaches as faculty on various courses nationally and also abroad, such as the AO fracture fixation courses, and has lectured in various forums such as the
Royal Society of Medicine, London.
Research interests
Mr Shah's research interests have included monitoring the outcomes after acetabular fractures, pelvic ring injuries and hip revision arthroplasties. He has studied hip resurfacing through evidence based review, and researched hip revision surgery through the impaction of bone grafting and elbow replacements.
His research has been presented at various national, European and international meetings such as British Trauma Society, British Hip Society, British Association for Surgery of the Knee, British Orthopaedic Association meeting, EFORT and the American Academy.
