Value for money is most important when buying travel insurance

Research by travel insurance specialist, World First Travel Insurance shows that value for money is the most important factor when buying travel insurance.

The research carried out by PFA Research, targeted more than 600 people throughout the UK who had previously insured with World First Travel Insurance. Customers were given a number of options and asked to identify what was most important to them when looking for travel insurance. The top five most important factors were:

  • Policy provides good value for money for the cover received
  • Dealing with knowledgeable and experienced customer service representatives
  • UK based call centres
  • 24 hours support and claims helpline
  • Quality of customer service

The research was carried out via an online questionnaire and was undertaken to establish customer perceptions and to identify the areas that matter most to people when buying travel insurance.

Martin Rothwell of World First Travel Insurance says, "We know people are spoilt for choice when it comes to travel insurance. There are many different providers to choose from, all offering different deals and levels of cover. In the current economic climate it is no wonder that cost is the biggest driver for people when making a purchasing decision. It is, however, heartening to see that the second most important factor when looking for travel insurance is knowledgeable and experienced customer service representatives, something we pride ourselves on at World First."
