Tele-underwriting service helps customers understand special terms

Research by Cirencester Friendly has found that customers with medical conditions that require special terms to be applied to their income protection insurance are more likely to be successful in their application for insurance via a tele-interview than the traditional paper route.

Paul Hudson of Cirencester comments, "We are pleased to see that the tele-interview service offered through MorganAsh is proving to be an effective approach for underwriting a range of customers, but especially where special terms may be issued. We believe that this is because the information is now being provided by the applicant themselves rather than through a GP report which many choose not to see. Not only can this make the process quicker, but also the applicant is more aware of the information our underwriters use to make their decisions – having provided it themselves. So when we offer special terms the basis of the decision makes more sense to them.”
