New figures from cosmetic surgery company SurgiCare reveal that there are far more breast enlargement operations carried out in the north than in the south of England.
According to the company, which is one of the UK's leading cosmetic surgery providers, 284 per cent more northern women have enquired about breast enlargement than in the south.
In particular, Manchester appears to be the breast enlargement hotspot of the UK. In the past year, 87 per cent more ops have been carried out in Manchester than in London.
Other places where breast enlargements appear to be all the rage include Bolton, Warrington, Wigan, Leeds, Bradford and Newcastle.
However, breast implants are clearly not so popular in all areas of the UK, as very few women in Scotland and the Isle of Wight have undergone breast augmentation.
SurgiCare operates eight clinics and has treated more than 20,000 patients over 15 years.
The company recently revealed that it had experienced a 135 per cent increase in the number of women deciding to increase their bust.
