Private 'super surgery' to open in Cardiff Gate

A new 'super surgery' is due to be opened in Cardiff Gate this month, it has been reported.

The Independent General Practice (IGP) became the first private GP practice in Wales in 2004 and now has around 1,000 regular patients in Cardiff, Cyncoed, Newport and Swansea.

It is now opening a new surgery with five consulting rooms, offering private GP services, vaccination, occupational health services, insurance medicals, medical-legal work and physiotherapy, as well as non-surgical cosmetic treatments, the Western Mail reports.

Dr Joanna Longstaffe, clinical director at the IGP, told the newspaper: "It really is an exciting time for the Independent General Practice - we've grown extremely rapidly over the last four years and this new surgery will allow us to take our services to the next level.

"Our clinical team is now ten-strong and with the number of specialists that are showing interest in joining us at Cardiff Gate, we'll be able to offer an extremely comprehensive range of both medical and cosmetic treatments."
