Obesity surgery 'sought after by slim women'

Even slim women are curious about obesity surgery when it comes to obesity treatments.

According to comments from Jenny Fowler, director of cosmetic surgery firm Lets Face It Together, there has been an increase in inquiries from slimmer women about bariatric procedures.

Ms Fowler told the Daily Mirror: "These women are between size eight and 14 and yet they want gastric bands and gastric bypasses either to lose small amounts of weight or ensure they don't gain weight."

Elaine, a size 12 mother of two, told the paper she is keen to have the cosmetic surgery procedure in order to drop around a stone.

She has seen larger women have the procedure, who were able to keep the weight off without trying hard because they always felt full, whereas she is hitting the gym regularly and keeping a close eye on everything she eats.

"It would help me lose the weight but it would also make sure I don't put it all back on, which is usually what happens," she explained.
