Nine out of ten customers satisfied with tele-underwriting

Nine out of ten customers are satisfied with the tele-underwriting service they received when taking out protection cover with AXA, a survey shows.

The insurer found 89 % of customers were completely satisfied with the service, while a further 10 % were fairly satisfied.

The survey was conducted by an independent research agency on AXA's behalf and questioned 676 customers who took out protection cover using full tele-underwriting during March.

98 % were completely satisfied with the care and politeness of the tele-underwriter they dealt with. 87 % were completely satisfied with the professionalism and knowledge of the tele-underwriter they spoke to and 78 % would actively recommend the service to friends or colleagues.

Mike Taylor, chief underwriter of protection for AXA, says: "We were the first UK protection insurer to launch full tele-underwriting to all customers. These encouraging survey results reveal this smart method of data capture really works for customers. Speaking to an expert tele-underwriter over the telephone can seem far less intrusive than being asked sensitive health and lifestyle information face-to-face."
