Men's cosmetic surgery procedures soar in popularity

Cosmetic surgery procedures are becoming increasingly popular among men, it has been discovered.

According to research undertaken by thegoodsurgeonguide.co.uk, the number of men opting for cosmetic surgery has increased by 82 per cent since January 2009.

Overall, 64 per cent of the 3,015 respondents said that they would consider going under the knife, while the most popular locations in the UK for those who have already had operations were discovered to be London, Cardiff and Swindon.

A further 21 per cent of those questioned said that they have had dermal fillers or Botox injections to smooth the lines on their faces.

Overall, 83 per cent said they would not rule out the possibility of cosmetic surgery.

Christiana Clogg, founder of thegoodsurgeonguide.co.uk, commented: "The shame that once accompanied men having the likes of Botox is rapidly disappearing - men are now planning it for their futures and openly talking about it."

Meanwhile, it was reported earlier this week that breast surgery patients may be able to regrow their breast tissue following a mastectomy, if research currently being conducted in Australia is successful.
