National Smile Month
finished on 20 June, but a leading
cosmetic dentist has said that it is still important that dental hygiene remains high on
people's agendas.
Dr Tim Bradstock-Smith, a UK dentist accredited by both the American Academy of
Cosmetic Dentistry and the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and founder of
the London Smile Clinic,
believes that a person's choice of toothpaste should reflect their own
individual needs.
"[There are] those designed for sensitive teeth and gums and if you are
after a whiter smile there are a variety of toothpastes that can brighten your
smile," stated Dr Bradstock-Smith.
He said that the most efficient way to clean teeth was to use a pea-sized
amount of toothpaste and brush for two minutes, remembering to rinse once
finished.
A deeper clean could be achieved by using a paste which contains baking soda,
as this will make mouths feel really fresh, the dentist added.
