Friends Provident improves critical illness policy

Friends Provident has added mastectomy cover to critical illness and life with critical illness policies. In the event of a total mastectomy to treat a carcinoma in situ of the breast, it will pay out 20% of the sum assured or £15,000 whichever is less. This additional cover will not reduce original sum assured in the event of a further claim.

Five other conditions have been reworded to widen their cover:

  • Heart attack
  • Benign brain tumour
  • Coronary artery by-pass grafts
  • Heart valve replacement or repair
  • Coma
