Entrepreneur launches cosmetic surgery firm

A new business has been launched by British cosmetic surgery pioneer John Ryan.

Mr Ryan, who sold his shares in cosmetic surgery business Transform Medical Group in 2002 for around £20 million, has established MYA, which now has private clinics in Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and London.

Further private clinics are planned and Mr Ryan is confident that there is growing demand for cosmetic surgery, the Yorkshire Post reveals.

The entrepreneur commented: "When I started out, cosmetic surgery was something people rarely considered.

"Now there is room in the UK market for a top class cosmetic surgery company. You only have to look at America to see how the appetite for this type of procedure is growing and with my experience I hope to bring the same success to MYA as I have done to my previous ventures," he said.

Cosmetic surgery is becoming more popular in the UK, although some consumers find the costs of private treatment prohibitive.

However, many women are benefiting from a new scheme called, which provides affordable access to private surgeons who have extensive experience of breast enlargement surgery.
