Denplan does good deeds

Winchester-based dental insurer Denplan teamed up with the Volunteer Centre in Winchester for the first Denplan Community Action Day on July 6, where 70 members of staff took part in various worthwhile community projects.

The employees split into four groups, with the first group decorating the boardroom and a studio at the Theatre Royal. The second, and biggest, project was at the Pinsent Scout’s site, where a team of 27 faced a worthy challenge to build a rifle range and archery area, paint the outside of the toilet block and clear the campsite located near to Farleigh Mount.

Next to benefit was Winnall Community Centre, where 23 volunteers provided the hall with a 'make over' to help improve the appearance of the typically 1960's building. The last project was the Jubilee Hall in Kings Worthy, where 12 enthusiasts undertook the clearing and creation of landscaped areas, the painting of railings and general site improvement.
