British people are still splashing out on elaborate cosmetic dentistry despite feeling the need to cut down on many areas of spending, it has been claimed.
According to the dentists at the Perfect Smile Studios & Academy in the south-east, cosmetic dentistry is becoming increasingly popular, even though many people are feeling the pinch.
Partners Rahul Doshi and Ashish Parmar revealed: "Since the credit crunch first hit in the summer of 2008, the Great British public started to cut back on nights out and opt for nights in front of the TV with a takeaway.
"With the increasing popularity of makeover shows such as Extreme Makeover, it is not surprising that everyone wants a slice of the cosmetic dentistry pie."
Mr Doshi noted that the Perfect Smile Studios offer relaxation therapies and even sedation to ensure nervous patients are made as comfortable as possible.
People who opt for sedation can have the drug administered orally or intravenously, allowing them to remain conscious but relaxed throughout their treatment.
